Lee has over 20 years of experience as a passionate biker, regularly attending biker meets and open biker events. The biker community is something Lee holds close to his heart — it is a community built on trust, loyalty, and looking out for one another, values that run through everything he does at Tech Nerds Wigan.
Lee’s background includes volunteering at DBBC Radio, where he taught people with a range of learning and physical disabilities how to use radio equipment, present shows, and produce adverts. Combined with his own lived experience of learning disabilities, this gives him a unique and personal understanding of the challenges many people face.
Having lived in a hostel twice, Lee has seen firsthand how many people — whether recently homeless, leaving prison, or recovering from addiction — struggle to rebuild their lives due to a lack of adequate support. This inspired the mission behind Tech Nerds Wigan: to help people develop essential life skills, gain safe and confident use of computers and the internet, access work experience and references, and get support with CVs and finding work and housing
